Concept Album

Introducing "Songs from The Shelter"

One of our hopes for A Kingdom of Tea & Strangers from the start was that it would feel like a tapestry of many years of stories, artwork, and people who have been touched by L'Abri.

In many ways, the culmination of that desire is the concept album we intend to release alongside the documentary: currently titled Songs From The Shelter.

As of now, we have at least 10 eclectic artists—many of them former L'Abri students—all writing original songs inspired by their experiences at English L'Abri. The hope is that the album will create a more immersive, meditative space for people to sit in the atmosphere and ideas of the film itself, even after the credits roll. Some of our artists include singer/songwriter Becca Jordan, short-term L'Abri worker and jazz musician Jonno Saunders, filmmaker and composer Nate Sheppard, a solo harpist from a village near L'Abri, and many others. We'll be excited to release it in the months leading up to the film.
